Working Pattern: Full time (35 hours)

Job Description: We are looking for a Paralegal to join our legal team. In this role, you will support our in-house legal team on all stages of employment tribunal work. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support our in-house team on all stages of employment tribunal work, including:
    • Drafting schedules of loss
    • Preparing lists of documents
    • Collating tribunal bundles
    • Reviewing medical records and drafting disability impact statements
  • Undertaking legal research on specific queries as directed by solicitors/barrister.
  • Note taking at case meetings with members. 
  • Contributing to legal team communications by updating guides, website pages and providing information by way of briefings and updates.

 

Skills and Experience: 
 

  • Has worked within a legal environment, either providing support on case work or managing their own case load
  • Working proactively, self-managing time and workload
  • Attention to detail
  • Handling confidential information and ensuring compliance with GDPR legislation
  • Working within a Trade Union or membership organisation is desirable

 

Essential Knowledge & Skills
 

  • Professional legal qualification
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Comprehensive administration skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, including use of MS Office Applications, MS Teams with the ability to pick up new digital platforms quickly
  • Strong team working and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of GDPR and need to maintain confidentiality
