Location: Remote / Glasgow

Salary: £25 per hour / £175 per day based on 7-hour day

Job Type: 3 months Fixed Term Contract (with a possibility of extension)

Working Pattern: 17.5 hours per week / 2.5 days per week

BECTU Vision is a screen industry skills hub based in Scotland and provides an essential and consistent output of targeted short courses and drama training programme activity designed to increase access, upskill and support the freelance workforce in Scotland. BECTU Vision’s industry development initiatives continue to lead the way in driving change for fairer, more flexible, and sustainable workplaces.

The project is core funded by Screen Scotland, Scottish Union Learning and the BBC in partnership with Bectu.

We are looking for a creative and proactive Marketing Co-ordinator with proven experience in marketing to join our team on a freelance, part-time basis.

In this role, you’ll support the delivery of our busy and exciting programme of training and events including content creation for our social media channels, website, blog, email communications, and print materials.

About the job

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our team to support the development and implementation of our marketing strategy to drive brand awareness of BECTU Vision. This will primarily be advertising our core events and programmes.
  • Creating and delivering an engaging regular Social Media presence across our channels including evergreen content as well as our programme of events.
     
  • Drafting, proofreading, and editing engaging, original content for marketing materials for training courses, blogging, initiative launches and events - including emails to mailing lists, social media graphics and posts and follow up social media and website blog posts.
     
  • Monitoring and capturing project outputs, including case studies, to share with industry and funders.
     
  • Monitoring and updating the BECTU Vision website including posting new events and blog posts.
     
  • Designing graphics and resources using Canva.
     
  • Creating video and photo reels from images / videos taken from our courses and events. Ideally using Canva or similar apps for reels such as Capcut.
     
  • Support the team in the creation of visually impactful presentations for training and events.
     
  • Create a quarterly email newsletter summarising BECTU Vision’s activity
     
  • Drafting and proofreading an annual report of activity
     
  • Manage the BECTU Vision Brand and ensure consistent application both internally and externally and be confident in briefing designers when we need professionally designed artwork beyond the means of Canva

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years experience working in a relevant marketing role
  • Strong experience in digital marketing and social media management
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Canva and an eye for design
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Word 
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive and independent approach to work
  • Experience with editing websites using WordPress (Elementor plugin)
  • Experience of social media scheduling and emailing marketing tools including Mailchimp, Meta Business Suite and Canva.
  • Working knowledge of online analytics (particularly Google Analytics, Search Console & Meta Analytics)
  • Be able to attend the office in Glasgow when needed for catch-up meetings and specific project briefings

Desirable:

  • Design experience / Ability to create engaging visual content (utilising Prezi, PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar).
     
  • Interest in or knowledge of the film and TV industry in Scotland.
