Location: Bristol or Cardiff Office; South West and Wales Team

Salary: £51,500 per annum (with incremental progression steps to a current maxima of £61,491)

Job Type: Permanent (hybrid arrangement – 3 days in office, 2 days working from home)

Working Pattern: Full time (35 hours)

Job Description: We are looking for a Negotiations Executive to join our South West and Wales team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing individual and collective representation, support and providing advice to members and branches to meet their needs and ensure successful outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience in dealing with personal case work and collective bargaining/consultation and working with varying stakeholders across the organisation both internally and externally, as well as a passion for working for a Trade Union. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individual and collective representation.
  • Conducting effective negotiations.
  • Individual casework to the level at which internal procedures are exhausted.
  • Branch development and recruitment, working with Organiser / Organising Official.
  • Overall responsibility c1,500 members, 8 branches
  • Support for campaigning

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Negotiating experience in a trade union environment.
  • Experience of working proactively, self-managing time and workload.
  • Experience of resolving member case work.
  • Experience of working successfully with volunteers and wider stakeholders.
  • Experience of contributing to campaign activity.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

 

  • Knowledge of/background in the trade union movement.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams/MS Project (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of pensions.
  • Knowledge of health and safety.
