Salary: £41,872 (with £3,160 Inner London Weighting if based in London Office)

Job Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full Time (35 hours)

Job Description: We are looking for an Organiser to join our National Organising Unit. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting a broad range of national projects ranging from organising to campaigning on a political and industrial level. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in project management or organisational change and a passion for working for a Trade Union. This will be a highly mobile role, working on organising projects across all the sectors in which the Union organises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver organising projects
  • Compiling of detailed project plans, allocation and organisation of resource and significant influencing skills.
  • Create appropriate communications for different workplaces.
  • Managing projects to completion and driving compliance with project plan.
  • Devise and deliver rep training.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • An enthusiasm to make a difference for our members by helping grow their influence and increase their representation and organisation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the trade union movement and/or community organising.
  • Experience delivering training.
  • Strong communicator with ability to influence.
  • Knowledge of the application and use of project management principles and techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering organising projects, campaigning for organisational change or similar.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams/MS Project (or equivalent).

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Basic knowledge of employment law.
  • Knowledge of pensions.
  • Knowledge of health and safety.
