Salary: £57,962 per annum (plus £3160 LW if London based)

Job Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full time (35 hours)

Job Description: We are looking for a Lead Organiser to join our National Organising Unit (NOU). In this role, you will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating and managing organising projects, recognition campaigns and recruitment initiatives at a national level on a union-wide basis. You will work to maximise collaboration across different Prospect staff teams and branches. As part of the role, you will train local representatives, improving branch organisation and developing workplace communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and delivery of national organising plan and priorities.
  • Identify, plan, co-ordinate and project manage organising projects, recognition campaigns and recruitment initiatives in agreed priority areas.
  • Co-ordinate and communicate effectively with negotiating teams on organising standards, resources, projects, training and initiatives.
  • Line management of Organising staff within National Organising Unit
  • Produce mapping/research/analysis to support organising initiatives and recognition campaigns.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of planning, co-ordinating and delivering successful organising initiatives and recognition campaigns including in greenfield sites
  • Good knowledge and understanding of industrial relations and employment law, in particular the legislative framework relevant to recognition and trade union rights
  • Strong and effective communicator with the ability build effective collaborative relationships with senior leaders, key stakeholders and members across sectors, industries and specialisms.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate a range of data, metrics and research in order to identify possible options towards an agreed solution
  • Line management experience
