The Role of Organising Official

Prospect is looking for an Organising Official to support our members working in TV and film production across London and the South East in the Bectu Sector. The successful candidate will have good communication and organisational skills and demonstrate an understanding of trade union or community organising. You will be working with other colleagues in the team and with our research, legal and communications teams, as well as our volunteer representatives providing support for campaigns, branch organising, training and personal case work.

The successful candidate must have a strong campaigning background as they will be responsible for recruitment and retention initiatives, developing existing branch structures, and identifying new organising opportunities. 

You will need to:

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, reps, members and employers verbally and in writing
  • Develop branch capabilities for organisation and recruitment and work on specific industrial and recruitment campaigns
  • Have previous experience of providing advice and representation on an individual basis 
  • Have strong planning, organising, analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Manage personal autonomy whilst working across boundaries to sustain relationships with stakeholders, groups of members, and colleagues
  • Want to make the world of work better for everyone by promoting membership and the values of the trade union movement.
