We are seeking a Head of Communications & Political Advocacy to manage, lead and develop the Communications team within Prospect.
The role is a senior post and part of our Management Team. It requires an individual with a relevant professional background and considerable experience of political influencing and lobbying. Whilst Prospect is politically independent the successful candidate will be leading our communications output and advocacy to support the various sectors of the union and the Senior Management Team. The individual will be a strategic thinker demonstrating an understanding of the industrial, regulatory, and political context in which our members work. The ability to build effective relationships at all levels with political stakeholders is key, as is an understanding of how we can use the media and other channels to advocate for members. Whilst the role is London based travel will be required.
This role will manage and lead communications team staff to ensure they provide support and advice to members and branches and that Prospect continues to grow its membership and influence. It involves developing strategies and managing relationships with the media and government.
