As an Organising Official you will be responsible for organising, recruitment initiatives and supporting campaign activity. You will be developing local representatives, improving branch organisation and workplace communications. This role will have a particular focus on providing individual support for members through case work and representation and identifying collective issues for organising opportunities. The industrial areas covered by this role are the energy supply industry and generation, including nuclear and the public sector but will also include work on other regional priorities and may evolve over time.

The base for this role will be Prospects Warrington office. However, it will involve travel nationally to various sites. Subject to Prospect’s car policy, you may be eligible for a company car.

Essential

  • Building and managing networks of volunteers independently.
  • Strong communicator with ability to influence and work well as a team.
  • Experience of delivering organising projects, organisational change or similar.
  • Experience of working in a membership and/or advocacy organisation providing individual or collective support and representation.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide support and engagement via a variety of means including face to face or digitally.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of employment law and health and safety.
  • Valid UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the application and use of project management principles and techniques
