Prospect is seeking to recruit a H&S Freelancer trainer to join our Education & Skills Team. The role primarily covers the creative, media and entertainment sector; will include hybrid working and may also require travel nationally. The role is for 14 hours per week.
This role will train, support and advise students and members through delivery of Bectu’s IOSH/PSP accredited CRISP and Starting Safely courses. The role will also contribute to sectorial H&S and learning trends and activities and support the wider Education and Skills CPD programs.
This role would suit an applicant who has a pro-active approach, experience of adult learning, with a proven H&S background within the creative industries, with excellent attention to detail, confident with digital technology and good organisational skills. A commitment to 30 hours’ continuing professional development (CPD) is a year is a must.
This role will join the Education and Skills team working across the UK, line managed by our Education & Skills Team Manager. You will also be working with colleagues across the union, elected representatives and members and non-member, primarily in Bectu sector of the union.

Essential
• 1 year’s Health and Safety responsibility as part of a wider role, within the creative industries.
• Experience of delivering adult training in a range of formats, online/in-person and blended
• Good communication skills with experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
• Act calmly and professionally when training, coaching and supporting students and members.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, representatives, members, and students.
• Have strong planning, organising, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Manage personal autonomy whilst also working well as part of a team and across boundaries to sustain relationships with students, groups of members and colleagues.
• Demonstration of, and commitment to, maintain your professional development.
• Want to make the world of work better for everyone through promoting membership and the values of the trade union movement.
Desirable
You will receive an annual incremental salary step until the maximum is reached.
