Bectu Sector Research Officer role
The Bectu Sector of Prospect supports and represents our members working across the creative industries and is a growing part of the union. Many of our members in the Sector are freelance or self-employed workers and lots of our campaigning work is focused on their needs. Prospect is looking for an experienced research and policy professional to help us champion members’ roles in the creative sector, and to develop our policy work.
Bectu Sector members work across the creative industries in TV and film Production, theatres, live events and Broadcasting. They are a vital part of the union. And this job is about developing our work to support them in lobbying, campaigning, influencing public policy and engaging with employers.
The role will be part of our Research team at Prospect. Applicants should have good analytical skills, an ability to use data creatively, excellent writing skills and an ability to communicate effectively to a range of audiences. The successful applicant will be expected to develop our Bectu Sector policy work, whilst also contributing to the wider objectives of the research team. Knowledge of self-employment and tax and benefits issues would be desirable for this role.
