The Role of Special Projects Organiser

Prospect is looking for a Special Projects Organiser to work in supporting our member networks and developing new greenfield organising activities. Our networks, from young workers to equality groups, are an important way for our members to come together to help inform our work. As a growing union, we are also looking for a candidate who can help develop and support our organising in new areas. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the next stage of Prospect’s growth. The successful candidate will have a knowledge of organising and project management techniques and be able to demonstrate how they can be applied in a union setting.

You will need to:

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, representatives, members and employers
  • Be able to organise and support members to influence change at work
  • Have strong planning, organising, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Manage personal autonomy whilst working across boundaries to sustain relationships with stakeholders, groups of members and colleagues
  • Want to make the world of work better for everyone through promoting membership and the values of the trade union movement.

Where this role fits in

This role is based in New Prospect House in central London.

You will be working with other colleagues in the member facing teams, with our research, legal and communications teams, and with our volunteer representatives providing support for campaigns and branch organising and training.
